Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi, known as Donatello, was a great innovator and throughout his very long career, left us numerous wonderful examples of the “new” humanistic and later renaissance language.
Your AGT guide will first take you to the National Museum of the Bargello, where the largest collection of his works is to be found (his “heroes” series, i.e.: the two Davids and St. George, the Marzocco and the Amor-Attis), after which you will be escorted to Piazza del Duomo (there a numerous contributions by him here), concluding your tour inside the Basilica of San Lorenzo, where you can admire the Old Vestry, an architectural and decorative jewel and Donatello’s pulpits.
