A second possibility is to start with Piazza della Signoria, to see the copy of David in its original place, in front of Palazzo della Signoria. After which, your AGT guide will take you into the National Museum of the Bargello, once used as the Florentine prison. The Bargello contains a number of Michelangelo’s works (the Bacchus, the Pitti Tondo, the Brutus, the David/Apollo) as well as numerous copies and studies by his followers. The tour will terminate in the Basilica of Santa Croce, where the monumental tomb designed and frescoed by Giorgio Vasari marks Michelangelo’s last resting place.
