The building contains the sensational museum of renaissance sculpture, with masterpieces by Donatello, the Della Robbia family, Verrocchio, Michelangelo, Cellini and Jean de Boulogne (also known as Gianbologna). There is a section devoted to minor arts with bronze statuettes, majolica, ivory, tapestry and woven items. Frescoes by Giotto’s workshop have been found in the Chapel, together with a famous portrait of Dante Alighieri.
