MAIN ITEMS INCLUDED IN THE TOUR
This tour is influenced by the success of Dan Brown’s book and of Ron Howard’s film based on it – Inferno – and your AGT guide will take you around Florence, in search of the locations that inspired and in which the Tom Hanks film was shot. You will be visiting some of the most beautiful monuments in Florence, like the Uffizi courtyard, the Ponte Vecchio and Piazza Signoria, where you will enter the Museum of Palazzo della Signoria, to look for Giorgio Vasari’s famous “CERCA TROVA” (SEARCH FIND) inscription as well as the great poet Dante Alighieri’s death mask. After which your AGT guide will lead you through the Dante quarter, to see Dante’s famous church, and thence to Piazza del Duomo.
The tour will continue inside the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, we also advise you to enter the Baptistery of St. John the Baptist, to see the Baptismal Font in which Dante is supposed to have been christened.
If you choose the whole day tour, you will walk over the Ponte Vecchio, beneath the Vasari corridor, to get to the monumental edifice of Pitti Palace. Your AGT guide will then be able to show you the wonders of the Boboli Gardens with its fountains, grottoes and natural delights.
