An overview of Florence, even with little time

Here, we wanted to suggest possible solutions to offer a general overview of Florence, even if you have little time to visit the city, famous worldwide for being the birthplace of the Renaissance.

Florence, cradle of the Renaissance and the modern age

An extraordinary historical period, a turning point in Italian and European history and, without exaggerating, for humankind as a whole. New ideas, a new way of seeing the world, first took root here, in Florence, influencing the history of the following centuries, all the way to the Industrial Revolution and beyond.

Thanks to an exceptional combination of circumstances — economic, political, artistic, and philosophical — and also to its “ordinary and extraordinary people”, it was in Florence that the foundations for the development of the “modern age” were laid.

Not just the great names

It wasn’t only Michelangelo and Leonardo, but also many other artists, less known to those who don’t study history or art history, but equally great. Alongside poets, writers, mathematicians, philosophers, and politicians — supported by the great merchant and banking families — and thanks to the skills of anonymous craftsmen, they turned ideas into reality, contributing to a new worldview: the humanistic one.

The role of the AGT guide

The task of the AGT guide will be to summarize and illustrate all of this during a walk together, where you will be able to nourish yourself with history, art, and beauty, but also — if you wish — enjoy a moment to savor an ice cream, a glass of Tuscan red wine, or an Italian espresso.

A little extra touch to complete your Florentine experience.
